Book Index

Book Index began as a simple question: how can a personal library become more than a list of books? Over the years, my reading accumulated across notebooks, bookmarks, spreadsheets, and scattered notes. Rather than treating them as isolated entries, I wanted to organize them as a searchable archive capable of revealing connections between authors, countries, genres, and historical periods. What started as a personal catalog gradually evolved into a broader exercise in structuring and navigating knowledge. The project combines bibliographic research, information architecture, taxonomy design, and interface design.

Every book was manually verified and enriched with metadata, including original titles, publication dates, countries of origin, categories, and contextual notes. The resulting archive can be explored through multiple paths—by genre, country, publication period, or author—while each entry provides a concise overview that adds context beyond basic bibliographic information. More than a personal library, Book Index is an attempt to transform years of reading into a navigable system of references, ideas, and influences.
